It is with strong regret that we announce, for personal reasons, that we will not be hosting the Lake Walcott Open for 2008. We refuse to provide an event that is anything less than the very best we can produce. Life has presented some difficulties and we have been forced to make some tough priority calls in favor of our family. Among other things, Sherry will be having orthopaedic surgery in December, 2007, and likely again in Spring 2008. Your thoughts and prayers for her will be appreciated. For this and many other reasons, we find ourselves unable to initiate the early preparations that must begin months in advance in order to produce a successful tournament. Some of Steve's other disc golf commitments have already suffered this year, and we could not let that happen to the LWO.
So many of you have been extremely supportive over the last ten years and it has been a great run. We apologize for disappointing any of our many friends in the disc golf community. We'd like to promise to be back for 2009 but cannot make that commitment today. For now, we have passed the spot on the calendar to some other regional disc golfers who may choose to run an event at Lake Walcott State Park on Saturday, May 10, 2008. If we get word confirming that, we will post a note and a link here.
We ask for and appreciate your understanding in this wrenching and personal decision. May God bless each of our disc golf friends today and always.

named the "TEAM Over The Top Open," on Saturday May 17 and Sunday May 18. We are
